Founder of Tranquil Roots, Mental Health Therapist
MSW, LCSW, LICSW, CCTP
Therapist
Experience: With over a decade of experience in social work, I have worked in a number of different environments. After finishing graduate school, I began working at a non-profit providing trauma therapy for families experiencing homelessness. Following this, I went to work for a public health department with individuals who were HIV positive, and then worked with teens and young adults aging out of foster care. For the past five years, I have been in private practice specializing in trauma treatment working with individuals.
Education:
Training: I first became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina in 2016. I became an LCSW in Oklahoma in 2021. When I moved to the PNW, I became a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State in 2025 and an LCSW with Oregon in 2026. I am in good standing with each of these boards. I have completed the full EMDR training with an EMDRIA Accredited training program through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness. Additionally, I am trained as an Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) Level 1 provider and hold a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) certification.
The Best Client for Me: I work really well with those who have been through a lot of therapy and perhaps made some progress but feel stuck and are having trouble finding ways to continue growing. Many therapists rely heavily or entirely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which usually focuses on more logical solutions. Logical solutions work for logical problems, but emotional problems require emotional solutions. When you have made as much progress as you can with logical solutions, we have to go to emotional solutions. I find the additional methods I use do a better job of getting to the emotional solutions than CBT does.
I also enjoy working with artists and creatives. With a background in drawing and painting I find that I am able to relate to my creative clients in a unique way that helps in reshaping unhelpful thoughts.
